After three insightful years as a freelance journalist, my creative campaign continues in my role of digital copywriter. I am frequently asked: “What does a copywriter actually do?” or more misguidedly: “Don’t you find it boring copying other people’s writing?” Fortunately, my role is more demanding and innovative than the latter and I tend to reply with equal precision: My aim is to deliver exceptional copy on behalf of our clients’ with the absolute intention of maximising their online presence. This will arrive in the form of web copy, articles, press releases or blog posts. My days as a print journalist are just a distant memory, but I always remember one key thing when writing content for a digital marketing company: don’t copy other people’s copy!
